I am very excited to announce that my new children’s book app, My Ride With The Alien, is available in the iTunes App Store.
About a young girl who meets a friendly alien and their adventure together as they tour the solar system, this kids book is fun and educational for ages 3 to 12.
I teamed again with illustrator Zack Clough to produce a rhyming story that I hope will entertain and inspire young children to learn more about our solar system. If all goes well, they won’t even know they are learning as they explore the many activities included in the book.
The interactive book app features an educational overview of the solar system with activity pages for each of the planets. Each activity page includes amazing photographs, engaging sounds and fun facts. A highlight of the book app is a unique Build Your Own Planet activity that let’s younger readers use their imagination to come up with their own planet designs.
With over 370 tap-able items, this app is as entertaining as it is educational.
You can download My Ride With The Alien in the iTunes App Store, in the Book App section.
I hope you like it, and please – if you have a moment, rate the app in iTunes and leave me a review. Thank you!
I just got off the phone with my dive buddy Dave Sanford, who is an underwater photographer in Hawaii.
I am very excited to announce that he will be the photographer for the original underwater photography in Dad And Me Under The Sea!
The book features seven sea creatures from the waters of Hawaii, each with a unique place in the Hawaiian ecosystem. Remarkably, Reiley and I actually saw each of these creatures on his first trip snorkeling. It was such a good time, I wrote a rhyming story about it!…
Check out Dave’s site at http://divewithdave.com, and watch for more news as we get this project up and running.
I am starting yet another new book app story called Dad And Me Under The Sea.
This is the first rhyming story in my collection that is 100 percent non-fiction. It really happened!
I was in Hawaii with my family and was getting my young son excited to go snorkeling with me. He was very young at the time, and a bit apprehensive. He finally gained enough courage to join me on an underwater adventure, so we donned our snorkels and fins, and headed out together to see what we could find.
We saw some amazing things! I was so proud that he was able to overcome his fear, and so thrilled that we were able to see so many wonderful animals. It has become a benchmark event for our family that we bring up whenever we talk about being brave and taking risks (like saying ‘hello’ to a new friend, or riding a bike for the first time), and the wonderful things you can achieve if you can muster the courage to take the first step.
This book is also a fun one for boys and girls alike; my two boys love it, and even my wife loves to hear it often; it’s a lot of fun! Keep an eye on this page, and I’ll keep you posted on my progress.
In the meantime, keep an eye on my nearly-finished pirate book app called The Day I Became A Pirate, soon to be available from TaleSpring. Also, watch for news on my other book app projects; One Day In The Grass, a story of a brave young girl who meets some friends on a whimsical day, and My Ride With The Alien, a story about a brave young girl who takes an exciting ride around the solar system.
